Ground improvement works are carried out where the existing soil does not have sufficient strength or stability to support the proposed structure. Rather than redesigning the foundation around weak ground, the ground itself is treated to increase bearing capacity, reduce settlement, and control groundwater movement.

Our ground improvement capabilities include jet grouting, permeation and compaction grouting, and soil stabilisation works. The appropriate method depends on the soil profile identified during site investigation, the loads to be carried, and the settlement tolerances specified by the design engineer.

Ground improvement is commonly required on reclaimed land, former mining sites, soft marine clay deposits, and sites where nearby structures limit the acceptable ground movement during construction.

Piling foundation works transfer structural loads through weak surface soils down to competent bearing strata or rock. It is the most crucial stage of any construction project — a solid foundation determines the long-term stability of everything built above it.

We carry out bored piling and reverse circulation drilling (RCD) for large diameter piles and rock socketing. RCD is particularly suited to sites requiring deep penetration into hard rock, or where large diameter piles are needed for heavy structural loads on major infrastructure and high-rise projects.

Pile diameter, depth and construction method are determined by the ground conditions established during site investigation and the loads specified in the structural design. On completion, pile integrity and capacity can be verified by our associate company Foundtest (M) Sdn Bhd.
