Piling Works

Piling works generally refers to the process of installing piles in the construction of deep foundation system for a building or structure.  It could be the most important structure that serves as root of a building to anchor the body to the ground, transfer the load and supporting it throughout the entire life span of the building.  Therefore, the construction process of the piling works must be carried out with the utmost care according to the design and installation procedure.  Pile Installation could be carried out by Driven Method (Pre-Cast Pile) or Drilled Method (Cast In-Situ Pile).

At Foundtest Drilling, we have a few drilling techniques that is commonly used for Pile Installation.  This includes Reverse Circulation Drilling (RCD), Bore Piling and Micropiling that utilized different machinery, equipment and methodology to drill a bore hole into the desired depth in ground and cast in the pile in place according to the Geotechnical Engineer’s design.  We could also assist our client’s design engineer in determining the type of pile that is suitable to the project according to the Geotechnical Report, Site Condition, Building Load, Budget, etc.

Besides Drilling for Cast In-Situ pile, our drilling machine could also be utilized to do Pre-boring works for the installation of Pre-Cast Pile under certain circumstances.  To find out more on how we could serve you in your piling works, do contact us now for more information and we will be glad to assist you as far as we could.

Reverse Circulation Drilling (RCD)

Our firm owns and operate Reverse Circulation Drilling (RCD) Rigs to provide large diameter drilling in soil.  RCD is a very cost effective way of soil drilling for the purpose of bore pile installation.  However, it requires a very experienced team with skillful operators for the entire operation. If you requires any assistance in your bore piling works, do contact us for more information.  We would be glad to share our expertise with you. Click here for more info

Micropiling

Pre-Bore

Pre-Bore is a technique used to install a Pile (RC, Spun, Steel, etc) by drilling a borehole to make way for the Pile to be inserted into the desired depth before the actual piling work started.  In certain ground conditions, pile that were designed to be installed by Impact Driving or Jack-In Method might face some technical issues, such as pre-mature pile termination (unable to drive in).  Under such circumstances, we could use our boring machine to bore through the affected layer so that the piling works could be carried out to install the pile to the desired depth of penetration.  Pre-boring works could also help to minimize issue of pile alignment problem due to poor working ground condition.
